The series contains letters, petitions, committee reports, acts, resolves, deeds, treaties, etc. relating to Indians, Indian land disputes, the Mohegan land controversy, and other Indian affairs. The first volume concerns primarily the Mohegans, the Pequots and the Nehantics; many of the documents concern Uncas, Owaneco, etc. The second volume covers the affairs of other tribes as well. The arrangement is mostly chronological.
